Topic: Tall blue and yellow bottle/vase in "tiger" stripes

I wonder if anyone knows anything about the vase pictured below.
It is 56cm tall and 11cm at it's widest. There are inner layers of lemon yellow and blue and where these colours overlap, the effect is greenish. The outer layer seems to have been hand brushed in a whitish material. It has then been finished by hand grinding horizontal "tiger stripes" through the white layer to reveal the blue and yellow beneath. There is a thin partial ring around the neck about 5cm from the top, which looks like dirty glue but seems to be in the glass. The base is ground smooth with a pontil depression about 4cm wide. It is gorgeous in the right light.


I can't find anything similar. Thanks in anticipation.

It's beautifully decorative.  It looks like new production to me.

Thanks Max. I wondered if the style was 1970s. Perhaps not. Would you call it a studio piece or mass produced?

See my reply to your other post. There's nothing wrong with buying new mass-produced glass if you like it and it suits your pocket. It just may not be an investment in your lifetime, especially as it seems to come totally unlabelled - no pride in product or provenance
