Blue Bird
« on: May 19, 2009, 05:13:57 PM »
Hi
Could anyone help with identifying this glass bird.

It is 9.75" high to tip of beak, 8" wide from breast to tip of wing & a wingspan of 8.5". The base has been applied and has gold inclusions within clear glass. The bottom also has an irregularly shaped pontil that is slightly indented and polished.

Overall, it's a lovely piece and very heavy - about 2.3kg.

Thanks

There is a good chance that your figure is a recent Murano bird. I saw one similar to it the other day, but cannot remember where I saw it now. If someone doesn't recognize it on the general glass board, maybe we can move the message to the Murano board in a couple of days.
