Seen at a local auction house preview.  Does anyone recognize this vase?

Thanks, Craig

Hi Max,

The auction house is local to me, but the auction is two states away in Montana, and it is about 12000 miles from you.....   ::)  It is actually one I will be "working" at to help them out...... They got a hold of me because of the tons of glass that is there..... I ran an auction for them for around 3 years....  and I will "possibly" be doing a bit of bidding while I am there "working"   ;D  :hiclp:  I am quite upset that I will be paid actual money to be there while I shop....

There are pieces of Kralik, Loetz, Steuben, Tiffany, Quezal, Daum, Schneider, Moser, Stevens & Williams, some very early Venetian pieces, and some other glass I have not seen yet... A bunch of Victorian era, and Carnival glass also. There is also some other non glass stuff they want me to help identify for them that they are having trouble with........ That will be part of my "job".....

The auction is two states (1000 miles) away from me, and they are paying to get me there and also to house and feed me....

Funny thing is, that I was trying to figure out how to go to it without spending hundreds of dollars on gas and motels and food, just to go buy some stuff..... and then the email came inviting me, and offering me money to come.....   :o

Hopefully I can buy some nice stuff reasonably enough to make some money, and also pay for a couple of good keepers for me... Like the vase above.....

I recognize the piece pictured above as I have seen it before, but can not place it at the moment..... but I like it.....

Craig

I wasn't asking where the auction was so that I could go and bid on this item.   :(

It was because in the past, we had been asking people to give the location details of auctions if they were asking for an ID from a preview.  This was to give a level playing field to everyone on the GMB.  I couldn't find the appropriate board information on that subject, so perhaps it was only something we did on a courtesy basis.

Max, I didn't think you were......  I was having some fun with you....  The auction is going to take place in Great Falls Montana by Pacific Galleries.....  a very unlikely place for all of this stuff to be at.....  kind of in the middle of nowhere.... I'll look at the link... If Barolac, maybe Jindrich will find this.....

Sure looks like the same pattern... Did Barolac do smoked like that?....  I really don't see much glass by them in the area I am in.  I have a couple pieces of theirs that I only recently discovered was theirs.... because of this board....

Thanks, Craig

I must be seeing wrong. The auction house vase looks like it has irises, while the Barolac piece looks like tulips. The quality, as well as the finish, does not look the same to me. The auction house vase reminds me of some of the nicer French pieces, but I have no idea what it might be.

Craig, I followed the Barolac lead and found this photo in a GMB B&M/Barolac album.

I'm not sure whose album it is. Maybe someone else can find the username.
