GUITAR SHAPED VASE ?

Could you please have a look at this vase in the shape of a guitar,with moulded strings and fret,it has a plain back and a raised makers mark, 15cm high and 6.25cm at the widest..thank you for looking

Can you get a better picture of the mark? Or tell us what it looks like. It looks more like a novelty bottle than a vase. Can we see the top

This is a novelty bottle made in Italy probably in the Empoli region. Currently the largest producder of novelty bottles is VE, Vetreria Empoli and their catalogue includes each and every bottle shape known to man - ranging from guitars to shotguns, exotic dancers and boots. VM could be one of the works they incorporated - it is a constant turmoil of moves & mergers.  The 83 probably refers to the production year.

Hi i have included the base stamp as seen on the middle photo,i have copied it as it is on the base,it is a raised clear glass mark.thanks for your quick reply..lynn
