I bought this pitcher a few days ago at a flea market - i really love the shape and it reminded me of something i had seen before (a long necked blue grey version by Tamara Aladin or the pullo design by Timo) but, on checking my reference books, there are similar designs, but nothing exactly like this. It appears to be hand-blown as there is a polished ponil on the base. It is a grass green in colour, very similar to the colour used by riihimaki.

It is approx 9 inches tall and 6 inches wide at widest point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Morus

Not one of my Riihimaki glass vases or jugs have a polished pontil (I've just checked) so for that reason I'd probably rule out Riihimaki completely.

By the way, did you say it was 'grass green' because the photos look browny/amber on my monitor - can't see any green at all.

Hi Pip,

Thanks for the speedy help - yes, i have to agree that none of my riihimaki vases have pontils either, so i think you are right there. it is a funny shade to describe really, maybe grass green isn't the best way (and i don't think the photo background helps!) as a reference, i have this same riihimaki vase linked below (described as olive green - which sounds better) and my pitcher is a very similar colour.
