Is this blue vase Boda Afors?
« on: June 27, 2009, 03:59:25 PM »
I bought this vase last year, the seller thought it was made by Boda Afors and that seemed to ring a bell with me. Since then, I have not been able to find another one anywhere that I have looked. The colour seems about right to me for Boda Afors.
It stands 15cm tall and has a polished pontil. Any ideas on maker or designer?

Thanks, John.

Those of a nervous disposition should look away, I have just spotted 4 bald heads in the photo!

Thank you both, I too was wondering about Bertil Vallien - the 'organic' shape and the colour are a little similar (this is pretty thin) to a photo in Scandinavian Glass Fire & Sea page 36 (bottom left).

I will have to look into the WMF possibility some more.

John.

This little photo confirms it, Afors and Vallien (thank you Robbo): http://www.bertilvallien.se/glas15eng.html

So this shape made in two sizes and those candlesticks look good.

I would never have thought so!
I've just found this amazing cat-triffid-monster on that link!
I want it more than I want a Vallien boat
I want it even more than I want a Vallein Brain wedge
