This is an ashtray that could pass for a doorstop!  It weighs 1750g, stands 3 inches high on a ground flat base (some of the bubbles are open in a spiral pattern underneath) and measures 4 inches square.

Can anyone recognise it please?

Thanks for your help folks, it's very much appreciated.

I have seen a similar pattern in objects from Marcolin, Ronneby.

Tina, I have emailed a couple of pictures to you.......

If you plan to sell this ashtray, please let me know!  ;)

The photo's you sent seem to show an identical technique, with the blue threading between the bubbles so I'd say you're likely right.  Do you have any idea how old it might be? Do you know how old the other piece was?

I would date the object in my photos to approx mid 1980's.

It's a lovely ashtray. Let's see if you get any more input,
any more suggestions about the ashtray.

As mentioned, I have some photos of a Marcolin object with similar pattern.
I can't post the photos here as they are eBay photos, and I can't remember who
the seller was, thus I can not ask permission to post them here.
However, if someone would like to see them I'll gladly e-mail them to you!
