Topic: cape cod glass William Clark Burchfield PW vase

just got this one, i know who it's by it was made in 1991 as the sig and date cane says " CCGW91" the thing is i can not find much about William Clark Burchfield or known as Bill, all i know he used to work for pairpoint glass up to 1976  then went on his own to form cape cod glass, i have photo's of all his paperweight canes but the one in my vase i can not find nor i can not find anything on the web, anyone know anything about our Bill

Sadly, Bill Burchfield's Cape Cod Glass Works company closed a year or so back. I don't recall the actual year. There is generally little info in the usual literature relating to Bill Burchfield's CCGW period.

I would be happy to answer any questions or tell you about any items we made. Most of the glass pieces we made have a signature cane. Some are really easy to read and some not so easy, glass is a funny thing when it's hot. The pieces we made that do not have signature canes in them were either a one of kind, the signature cane melted, we forgot to put one in (HA), prototypes or we made special for wholesale clients or folks who asked. I will say that I believe that our work is easy to identify, we have notice in the recent years we have seen copies but my dad was a man for detail and quality, so it's flattering but there is a difference. If you send pictures I will do my best to assist you on any info, I have started a project and hope to turn it into a collection of work and stories about us. It was something that I have always enjoyed doing but sadly have not work with glass until recently have started back working with glass. My dad closed his shop in TN a few years ago due to his health, he is doing much better now and even talks about doing something part time, I am keeping my fingers crossed.
