clear glass vase cut detail, any ideas on maker??
« on: July 23, 2009, 10:54:46 AM »
Hi there
ive had this vase lurking around the house for around 6 years now and i just cant get an ID on it. When i first bought it i thought it may be whitefriars as i have a couple of the C480 cut barrel vases and the cut looks similar.
The vase is made from a reasonably quality clear glass, im not great with types of cutting but i think this is wheel engraved cut?? the base is well polished with a ground out and polished concave pontil. The rim is not even with one side being about 1cm taller than the other although i think this is part of the design.
The base has plenty of age wear, a complete shot in the dark i would think 1940/50's?? no signs of any markin
12cms tall, 6.75cms diameter at widest 720gs so quite heavy for size
any ideas??
many thanks
michelle
