enamelled dressing table powder bowl??
« on: August 10, 2009, 07:54:55 PM »
originally thought this might have been Stuart from the early 30's, but no name so almost certainly not, and think painting is slightly different artistically anyway.   The enamelling is thick, and the painting of good quality. Might the green circular patch on the top knob give any clue?   Believe flowers are crocus and iris/flags  No pontil mark, simply a moulded base.  Probably mid twenties to 1940 period  -  and I suspect shed loads of powder bowls made with varying degress of enamelling, so attribution probably difficult.   11.5 cms. wide and 7 cms. tall.    Grateful for any suggestions, and thanks for looking.    Paul S.

I am suggesting Germany or Austria. Don't ask me why...
