Can you help ID this vase please? - ID = Webb Corbett
« on: August 11, 2009, 08:46:24 PM »
Hi we would appreciate any help with this vase, which i bought because it has a mark on the base, but i can't identify the mark or even if it is a vase.

It is 6 1/2 inches high and 4 inches wide. Heavy crystal and i think it is hand cut. The mark is worn but i am quite sure it is a 5 pointed crown.

We are new to glass collecting so we expect to have fun learning by making a few mistakes.

many thanks

kim and ed

Hi and welcome to the board and to glass collecting, it's addictive so be warned!  :chky:

I'm pretty sure your mark is the Webb Corbett crown mark - see another example of it here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,17544.msg103426.html#msg103426

Hi

Many thanks, I am sure you are right about the maker. I have found more examples of the mark on google.

I have searched a bit more and i have found this style of vase called a whiskey decanter but i have not found this pattern yet.

You might find a match for the pattern on either of these two sites:
