
I'm sure what the book says is that it's gold or blue Aurene, depending on which colour is predominant, Christine, not that I'm doubting you, 'cos I thought that too.

What confuses me is that I've got a cylinder which has NO blue. I wondered about this for a long time, and if the Gold Aurene might actually be "rare".
I have just been to check a few pieces, and I think perhaps it IS whether gold or blue is the colour on top after all.
But I also play safe, and avoid using gold or blue at all, simply referring to Aurene. :thup:
I've got a Tortoiseshell globe about 8" in diameter, I'm sure Aurene goes up to this size. I'd love one, but the correspondingly enormous price tags on the very few I've ever seen have been prohibitive.
5.5" is still a good and substantial medium size.
