Vase a little like vasart/monart marked FRANCE
« on: August 17, 2009, 06:07:30 PM »
I thought this could add to the selection of 'looks a little like Vasart' .
It is 27.5 cm high and is etched FRANCE on the base.
Can anyone help with identification?
Thanks
 David

Hi Mike,
It's cut and slightly bevelled each side and not properly finished.

Not so Schneider, perhaps a repair... agree it is very Schneider though. Could almost have been made by Salvador had they been doing such work when he was there  ;D

Yes

I was thinking Schneider

I've their seen pieces just signed in acid France quite like this -(but rarely)

-actually Schneider did do cold cut tops on table ware--but I've never seen a cold cut topped schneider vase.

They other possibility is Mulaty they can be amazingly like Schnieder and were occasionally lazy enough to leave a top like this -but I've never knowingly seen an unsigned piece

cheers
