I've found another old Venetian piece I think! At a carboot sale this time so less expensive.
I think its another late C19th Venetian piece, at least that was my thought when buying it. Though I was amazed to see a similar piece as Sowerby on a website and one of my books. I must admit that surprised me.
Just when I had begun to think I could spot a piece of old venitian glass :huh: ....!!

I don't think it's Sowerby. Their output was either blow moulded and cut or pressed - nothing like this. I think your first guess was better. Which website?

Wow Ivo excellent recall, my old post and I had forgotten it!
Yes that I the site I re-found..It is in a book of mine too. Was the final thinking that Sowerby hadn't done these( and that they are all venetian) but that misattributions made in an old book?

There are a couple of claims for these bowls: Salviati and Nicholas Lutz. I don't see Sowerby in this one, but I don't know a lot about them. It may be that both Salviati and Lutz did the same designs, so it isn't an either/or. Being a Murano person, I favor Salviati... but that doesn't mean that it isn't Lutz. I have been wrong more than I care to admit.  :spls2:

What do you think about the age? Are things like this still produced or do you think it has a bit of age like I had assumed?
