Topic: Murano newel post finial?

  I've been offered this newel post finial as French and antique, however on first seeing it Murano sprung to mind immediately, although someone has suggested Clichy, presumably because of their latticinio vases.
  Has anyone seen such a finial before? or does anyone have any ideas as to it's origin?
  I would be grateful for any ideas.

Absolutely modern Murano without a doubt. They come up on ebay with regularity.

I've seen those pink and white ribbons in Fratelli Toso weights.

Thank you both for your opinions, which confirmed my initial feelings about the origin of this piece. Although, as my knowledge of Murano is very limited, I was only taking a shot in the dark.

I would say Murano too. Dino Tagliapietra, for example, blown several items very, very similar (in shape, size and Zanfirico canes) during '70s and '80s
