Help ID Whitefriars Lookalike Vase Please!
« on: September 01, 2009, 12:39:24 PM »

  Hi,

I was given this Vase at the weekend by a relative who thought it was Whitefriars, but I think not. It is similar to the ones made by W/F however it is 12" tall and 1.75" across the top and is a nice Amethyst colour, my thoughts are probably Swedish. Any help you can give would be much appreciated

I think not, but it is nearly impossible to see what it is, when I try to enlarge your photo I do not get up th entire vase.  Also would help if it is better lit and rotated so it appears upright.  Sorry to sound picky, but you may stand  a better chance of an ID with a different picture.

:D  Now I don't have to get into a Yoga position, I can see it better now thanks ;D   The tallest bud vase of this kind in the Whitefriars catalogue is 10.5 inches, and although yours is a similar shape, the colour is not a Whitefriars colour and the round knop is too low down and close to the base.  Sorry can't help you with what it is though.

Here's a pic of a Whitefriars one - and I am not proud of the quality of this photo either (taken a long time ago) but you can see the shape differences

Hope this helps
Emmi

Thanks for that, confirms my thoughts that its not WF. :kissy: I own about 16 of the Whitefriars budvases and could see the similarities but knew it wasn't WF so I didn't even bother posting it on wf board, its a nice vase and I'd love to know who made it if anyone can help!!! ;D
