While looking for information about Hessenglas, I found this web-site:
http://www.kristallglas-oberursel.net/Text/ProdukteHessenglas_Gangkofner.html
The vase shown there as ´Schwangere Jungfrau´ much reminded me of
the one in this thread. However - got a copy of ´Aloys F. Gangkofner -
Glas und Licht´ by Xenia Riemann today and can confirm, that this also
is a Gangkofner design for Hessenglas.
BTW the site is well worth exploring. Many of the Hessenglas workers
came from Bohemian factories such as Riedel. Some of their designs
reflect the Hessenglas founder´s and worker´s origin.

Dirk!  You little star :-)  I wonder if Marcus has seen this yet...

Glad I could help!  :) Although they are 50´s not 30´s design I still think these vases
are ´avantgarde´. I must admit it wasn´t love at first sight, but meanwhile I think they
really are an important and (everything´s relative) innovative design.

Terry would be pleased about your ID, unfortunately he died three years ago, though his pictures live on.
