Shops use their own labels on stuff so you remember where you got it from and your friends say that's nice where did you buy that from. It's cheap marketing - lots of retailers apply their own labels and always have done. A shop is unlikely to have been a decorator because it requires specialist equipment to fire gilding or silvering on

I really like your elephant its a lovley colour , im just starting my collection  it started as reds but has escalated to the whole rainbow , im going to murano in june so need to put up lots of shelfs  Smiley ....... looking into the right piece of glass is like looking into another world ..        kerryn

The Morreti elephant wouldn't have had any decoration Anne  ;)

I agree it's probably a Muranese retailer and think that your vase is much more likely to be from mainland Italy rather than Murano. This mould-blown stuff is more typical of the mainland.

Oops! Missed the elephant Christine, I was focused on the vases!  :-[  You're right, it's more likely to be a retailer label then.  :thup:
