"Silviati" Plate
« on: September 11, 2009, 11:26:31 AM »
I had a difficult time trying to pick out the "Silviati" in the signature on the bottom of the "Venetian" plate in eBay #350247868289. The plate looks like a fairly recent Sydenstricker (Cape Cod, USA) fused glass plate to me. I was disappointed when I opened the listing. I hoped to see an old Salviati mosaic. I am glad that it didn't bid up. Sydenstricker pieces are nice, but made quickly and abundantly, so don't fetch a big price. I thought I would put this here in case more Silviati pieces show up.

I'll bet the buyer knew.  That's a reasonable price for a Sydenstricker that is a little different from most you see.
