Olive green vase - Scandi? = Riihimaen Lasi / Riihimaki
« on: October 22, 2005, 02:52:47 AM »
http://yobunny.org.uk/gallery1/displayimage.php?pos=-665   Flat base, cased in clear glass, height 9¾ inches tall.  The dark line through the clear base is a reflection from the olive green glass, the base is totally clear. (Click the image to bring up a larger version.)

Is this vase Scandinavian? Any suggestions as to maker please?

Anne,

I think your vase is by Riihimaen Lasi, but I don't have any proof.

It certainly looks the part, doesn't it.

TMaritta, are you from Finland? This group gets better and better!

I agree with TMaritta, that it's probably Riihimaen.  I think it's one of those designs you might never find the designer for - sadly there's quite a few Scandinavian pieces like that.   :(

Anne,
I agree with Tmaritta, Cathy and Max, it certainly has the look of Riihimaen.
There is (I think) the same olive green one here, pictured with another Riihimaen vase of the same colour; this second vase is, I think, definitely Riihimaen - it normally has the 'Polar Bear' stamp. The colours look identical.

Thank you all, I was thinking it may be Rihimaki but wasn't sure. It was the colour that caught my eye - I don't have anything else in that colour green. Much appreciate your help. :)

BTW The one robbo posted the link for is the same as mine.
