Topic: Id this lovely colourful fluted vase please

Here is another one of my wonderful purchases.  It stands on a clear 3 footed base, the base however in my opinion lets it down as it has a broken pontil 
It is a gorgeous array of colours and looks and feels a quality piece but maybe I will be advised otherwise (fingers crossed not though).  Now I cant decide if it is cased in clear or not.  A perfect piece in my eyes and no damage other than the pontil. (Is that the right word still learning)
Can anyone id this please it does say Italian to me but I am sure someone would kindly direct me in the right place.

I don't know, but it looks like it could be from Poland or China. The rim looks like many of the contemporary vases that I see offered in stores.

There's nothing wrong with a broken pontil; it's very common on glass from the turn of the 20th century and before. I'm unsure about your piece; it looks like it's trying to be a Bohemian piece from the late 1800s/early 1900s but the feet don't look right. It's not Italian. Is it very clean? Is there any ingrained dirt in any of the joins? If not, it's probably modern as Anita suggests.

Hi peeps I see that it could be modern possibly but what I would say was that it was filthy when I bought it at a car boot and gave it a bit of elbow grease.  I will have another look tomorrow in the daylight.  What I have just noticed though is a couple of what could be flaws in the body itself will try to take a pic of it tomorrow if I can and then hopefully we may be able to put a closure on it whether that be a modern store piece or older.  Thanks again.

Christine, what do you think about the colours and general thickness? They look wrong to me as well. There's something about the white and clear casing that reminds me of the Chinese swirly pattern vases that were sold under the label 'Snowflake'.

What does everyone else think?

The feet don't look right for old and the fact that the pattern inside the mouth doesn't match that under the rim seems wrong. I would expect old spatter glass to either show the external pattern or be cased in white. I would go for something made in the last 20 or so years and not in Bohemia.

Dirt doesn't take long to accumulate but old stuff generally has what I assume is soot that has crept into the tiniest crevices

May I ask when you say you would expect old spatter glass to be encase in white would that be the whole item or just under the rim.  If this helps build a clearer picture the whole item is cased in clear it maybe doesn't look to be as it is quite close to the pattern work.  I say all over in clear except under the rim which is white.  This is why I am asking.  If you could kindly clarify that to me please and then I shall pop it back in the unit.  Many thanks for your help on this one all.

Correction sorry the under rim is also clear it has been done in 4 layers.  Clear, colour, white then clear top to bottom.

It was early this morning.    I would normally expect a clear outer layer, then a coloured middle layer and then a white inner layer. I could be completely wrong but it doesn't seem old to me.
