Lovely green vase odd pattern who made it please?
« on: September 14, 2009, 07:45:09 AM »
I bought this vase a little while back and the lady told me she had purchased it for her mother 40+years ago I am not so sure myself.  It is quite a delicate thin glass but starts out relatively thick from the base but not overly thick.  It is an pattern within the glass which can only be seen when turning it to the light.  Just to look at it it looks like a plain green vase.  A slight concave base and wear around the edges otherwise in perfect condition.  Who made this please and an age if possible. May I also add the flash has played a little trick so it looks like a vase within a vase but it isn't.
Thank you
Margi

Thank you Bradbury7308 I am very much a beginner myself so appreciate any input at all whether it be right or wrong at least it gives me a direction to head off to.  Looking back I should have asked the lady where she bought it but I had the devil angels pulling on my arms.

Hi Margi,

The dark colour of the surface that you are photographing on affects the way one can interpret this pattern on the vase and its colour making it difficult to comment IMHO.

However, I will say that I don't think this is as early as suggested, more likely '30's or 50's.

Nigel

Thank you Nigel I will re-photograph the vase on a lighter surface when I get the chance.
