confirmation of this swirly this lamp base ? ID: Woolworths

purple swirl heavy vase...I saw one similar on whitefriars site and it was said to be prehaps from woolworths?? it has a polished base just interested what anyone may think here about this..many thanks (better picture added but its not small its just next to a giant paperweight)

Modern decorative, were these sold in the British Heart Foundation shops originally, or was it TK Maxx? I think they are the bane of the Whitefriars.com stalwarts!

thankyou i  saw this at a bootsale for 50 pence  after seeing the woollies one on w.f....and i couldnt stop myself buying it :) why do the cheaper items appeal more to me!!!!   many thanks

 Hi,  Talking of things bought in Woolworths, my Mum bought herself a blue Walther Greta vase back in the early 50s from Woolworths here in Norwich. (she never knew what it was until I started collecting glass myself) Look how much some of those are making now. Its always puzzled me what a 1930s vase was doing for sale in Woolies in the 50s.   Cheryl

I think a fair amount of glass was specially made for Woolworths too. The Greta vases were probably made post War by VEB Saschenglas http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/VEB-Sachsenglas-1965.73.0.html
