The seller of the vase, Sabine, sounds very nice, and enjoyed reading the discussions, she worries about joining the board because of her English, but i told her we have many nationalities on here, and im sure we will understand and welcome her! Andy

Andy:
I was looking at the other pieces in the last picture in your first post. Were those in the lot of four you bought? They look all Czech. BoBA has identified somewhere else the one on the right (green top, maroonish/brown base) as Palacek for Skrdlovice. If you bought those four pieces for less than three figures, I'm even more envious.

My glass collection is at https://picasaweb.google.com/lasilove Please let me know about errors in attribution, and I'd be very grateful for any id's for my "Unknown" file. It's way too big.

Hi David, no it wasnt those ones, i know they are Czech (couple of tall Mdina in the background) It came with this glass box, almost certainly Mandruzatto, http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,29035.0.htmlthis whopper, http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,29033.0.htmlwhich i think is probably Murano and has some age, i think you had some doubts on that one and a pinky blue fluted, probably Murano 60s 70s http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,32491.0.htmlNo definite attribution for any of them :'( I still think Murano is most likely for them all

Sorry no pictures, but i saw a very similar Sommerso vase at an auction last week, it didnt have the blue wings, but had a very similar 'architechural' shape, i have no doubts it came from the same factory, and again, no doubt it was a good 40 or 50 years old, needed a lot of cleaning. Estimate was 30-50, i left a bid of 80 and it sold for £120 :'(

Saw this vase yesterday and thought of the vase that started this thread.
Sadly this photo does not show it but the red/amber/pale blue colour combo seemed quite a close match. If it does not sell I should be able to get more photos of it next week.

Andy, I would feel comfortable in saying that those 2 are from the same maker. The colours and style match perfectly...that is a very good score!
