One of the joys of multicultural communication is that our words (in English) can be perceived differently due to the differences in exposure. A constant problem in our house with Carmen being native German, Felicity native Dutch and me native English. I often get pulled up for saying the wrong thing when I didn't and can also misunderstand them. Mind you the English also seem to have a problem with the way I say things  >:D

Tolerance and asking for clarification is often the key.

Yes, I agree with this post entirely, and I do apologise for getting rather shirty.  I have had some rather frightful experiences on the boards here recently which, I think, have mostly been due to misunderstandings.

I really appreciate your post, Frank.

My apologies to Ivo.  I hope we might start over somewhere soon.

Actually looking at mine against yours again I can see similarities but differences at the same time will post my clear one anyway just for the sake of it.

Thanks Margi!

How nice to see another, even with very slight differences.  Emma and I have a great affection for these vases because they're what got us started in our appreciation of glass.  Though we sell them on if they're offered to us for mere pence, we love the two in our picture because the small one was our first and we didn't know the larger one existed until very recently, so it really looked absurd to us when we found it in a boot sale under-table box!

Thanks again - will keep a look out for variations in the future.

 :)

Just returned home from our yearly 'biking weekend' with friends, therefore only my short comment:  :24:

A "CanYouFindIt" bit of fun IS fun!

But mods please: as no ID is requested, should be moved to the cafĂ©?  8) ;D

Thanks Stu and all interested in my collection/pages and your nice comments !

Margi, thanks for posting your pics of that vase - some of us have unlabelled ones we've been trying to pin down for a while and your pics mean we can now put them to bed. :)
