Strange scandy? fish
« on: September 29, 2009, 05:04:56 PM »
Hi,
I bought this strange fish on Sunday thinking it might have been a Hoglund piece but my friend John (glassobsessed) has told me that the colour is wrong. The fish has a "white wine"  shade. Any ideas please?.
The photo was taken with a mobile phone when I was in Mumbles on Sunday afternoon, hence the background.
Cheers,
Bryn

Just to add a little more info, the fish is 4.5" long and 4" tall and quite heavy at 600gms.

Hi,
Thanks Paul, I was actually thinking along those lines myself, I have a labelled Pukeburg Viking ship and Polar bear which have the same sort of structure but the colour threw me a bit.
I have taken another photo as requested by John, on dry land, so as to speak!

Hi,
I've just done a bit of googling and found this Artifact auction.
http://www.artfact.com/auction-lot/pukeburg-moulded-clear-glass-fish-and-a-similar-1-c-4af0bco0dx
The maddning thing is that I also saw no less than 2 of the cockerals one clear and another blue and i didn't even ask the price. I think you were there when I picked up one John. Drat! :spls:
Thanks everyone for your help.
