Chance- Playing Card
« on: September 29, 2009, 11:51:34 PM »
I am very lucky to find a Complete set of Chance milk glass playing cards in mint condition in its original box(small Diamond) for under a £1. Just like the set in the book.

Under a pound?!  That's a bit of a bargain.  :o  Can you keep an eye out for a 'Wild Rice' plate for me Ming?  I'm willing to pay up to £2 for one.   ;)

PS:  Could you add a photo to this thread please?  Thanks!  :D

A nice set - my box has a label that's revealed when the lid is removed: see photo p.66. Does yours still show the earlier label? These sets can definitely be dated to pre-1962 because of the small-diamond patterned boxes, but the use of opal glass almost certainly dates them earlier.
