Pink frosted 3 seamed vase
« on: October 01, 2009, 02:34:59 PM »
Not sure what to call this it partly reminds me of an urn/goblet/vase/floating candle holder.  Anyway if you know please let me know  ;).  I have only been collecting glass a short while a month to be exact and this is the first piece I have come across which has 3 seams. I read Fostoria has 3 seams as opposed to 2 but is it common practice to have 3.  It is frosted in a delicate pink colour and is quite heavy.  Can anyone tell me more about it please.

Ice cream coupe from Stelvia in Italy. The model is from the sixties, the pink frosted version has come into fashion into recent years.

Super fast Ivo  :hiclp: I would never have guessed from the 60s I actually thought due to the condition it had come from a supermarket just yesterday.  Thanks

Mmh - it possibly did come from a supermarket (a better one though).  ;D
It looks like a ´Maribowl´ by Iittala; comes in (at least) two sizes: 120 and 155mm.

dirk, yes I thought of the Iittala bowls as well, but didn't realise that they'd satinised them.

This seller on ebay.de has frosted ones - in clear only, but given
the wide variety of this range I wouldn´t be too surprised to find
satinised bowls in other colours, too.
