Hello
Do you like my Whitefriars vase? Just kidding.
As you can see, it has a "Foreign" sticker on the base but, as most of my glass is from overseas, it would be great to have a better idea of exactly where this vase was made.
It stands just under 7" tall.

I have seen a few of these listed for sale on ebay and out and about...quite interesting to see one with label...never held one though...how does it feel tinker???...

Substantial, really nice quality. Has a tipping point of one third it's entire length from the base, so the base is suitably heavy for practical purposes as a flower holder. I have seen a green one today, in a local antiques and colectables shop, for £38! Crazy! I really hope someone here can place this one because - although I am a seller/collector - I am really fascinated. I have looked through so many textured vases, my eyes are going textured!  Stu. |

Was it labeled though???...LOL...i think i would rather pay 38 quid for your piece with the label (even in aussie dollars)...merely for the label/research value...i have never seen one in that colour though...it really is nice...next time i stumble upon one...i will ensure i get closer inspection... Your vase may be related to this one; similar texture but hexagonal rather than square. Label reads 'Best Art Glass, Foreign'. I've had this for years but have never been able to find out who made it....

Andy - love the 'get my coat' line. Believe me, a wrong guess is fabulous. It's only by people being interested enough to have a go that keeps the ideas flowing IMHO. I always think a guess should be stated matter-of-factly too - just for sheer comedy value!
