Thought you might like to see my paperweights
« on: October 28, 2005, 07:03:49 PM »
I don't actually collect them just a few. The first two are an American Gentile glass one which is also a pen holder. I bought it in Boston, USA, and a signed Murano one bought in Florence.
The second two are early Okra 1982 and 1983. I do collect Okra glass also.
The last one is unidentified. Any Ideas please.

Thanks for showing these, Pat.

In the UK I don't get much opportunity to see examples of Gentile Glass paperweights, so it's nice to get a photi of one. [I suppose I could search eBay for Gentile items, but I have to admit that I don't!]

I have always liked Okra paperweights, particularly those with the pulled thread patterns, but have not yet added any to my collection.

I don't recognise the other one. Are you sure there is no maker mark anywhere on the base or perhaps on the outer edge just above the base? I'm also wondering whether it could be of the Isle Of Wight type, which may just have originally had a paper label?
