The 15th Cambridge Glass Fair will take place on Sunday 28th February 2010.

We have a very interesting foyer exhibition already planned - details a little nearer the time - along with our other usual added attractions, all making this a date to put in your diary.

The foyer exhibition for February will be Gareth Taylor's collection of Ernest Gordon's designs for Afors and Kosta. This is the first time such a comprehensive display of his work has been shown and it promises to be quite spectacular.

There will also be a demonstration of the art of making Tiffany-style stained glass by artist Ann Benwell. She will be found in the Contemporary Hall and viisitors will have the opportunity to try their hand at this skill and maybe to take something home that they have made themselves.

Further updates to follow shortly.

As promised, some more details about the forthcoming fair.

A new book of interest to paperweight collectors has recently been published entitled 'Victorian Dumps, Paperweights, Mantel Ornaments and Whimsies'. The author, Peter M.Sellers, will be offering the book for sale at the fair at the specially discounted price of £35.
You will find Peter in the foyer alongside the Paperweight Collectors Circle stand. The PCC are again giving collectors the chance to bring along their weights for discussion, identification etc.

Now for something completely different and also to be found in the foyer: we are pleased to welcome a member of the Cambridge Philatelic Society who will be showing an interesting collection of stamps bearing glass-related subjects.
He will be happy to answer any questions visitors may have on the collection or the Society.

We will add more news in the next week or so.

In addition to the foyer exhibition there is also to be an exhibition of Whitefriars Sky Blue pieces from both the early and later periods. This will be found in the Great Hall restaurant area where all Whitefriars aficionados can meet to chat and put names to faces etc.

Jolanta Cole, our popular harpist, will be playing at lunchtime and Andy McConnell will also be in attendance.

We hope you can come along, too.

We are delighted to be able to say that the fair was one of the best attended ever, despite the weather, and the majority of exhibitors had a good day with some reporting their best-ever one day fair.

The exhibitions were among the most well-received, too, and Gareth's display of Ernest Gordon pieces was superb. It was also a delight to meet Ernest's family.

Thanks to all involved.

Now we are preparing for our new event: SE21 - The Glass and Ceramics Fair at Dulwich College on 28th March.

Details will be posted here shortly.

The next Cambridge Glass Fair will take place on 26th September.
