Ardy,
there are some issues that are fascinating.
Man from very far Australia knows much more about our glass that my neighbour. Great. Thank you.

I suppose that  we Czechs will never be able to thank Mr. Marcus Newhall and Mr. Mark Hill properly for the popularisation oc Czech glass. They will not get any horse rider's statue at Wenceslas sqaure, but they shoud be appreciated with small dwart one in Knizak's gallery.  ;D

Stop joking, Newhall and Hill - two English man are teaching Czechs about their glass treausures? And finaly the man from Aussie?  >:J.

Jindrich - If it was Seguso I might be able to add something but Czech glass like this piece, which I love but know almost nothing about.

You are right, the serious sklo collectors are lucky to have the M squared group (Mark and Marcus).
Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.
Archimede tops my list.

Jindrich - you are most probably doing better than 95% of us plebs.

Ardy, Jindrich knows mountains about Czech glass, and that includes personally knowing some of the designers, so he is doing better than 100% of us plebs. :) Marcus, meanwhile, wrote the definitive text on Czech pressed glass. We are in esteemed company!

Oh Jindrich...... it would have to not exist.... or just be a thought...... after all, Knizak is merely a conceptualist :24: :24:

David,

The Harrach'ov works made many ranges of wine glasses, so it would be highly likely that Harrtil glass services were made.

Thanks, Marcus. I'll go off and have a conceptual drink from one of them. On second thoughts, a Banyuls sounds better.

Ardy:

Too late tonight. I'll take some pictures of the more interesting ones tomorrow (or Thursday; I've made promises about tomorrow).

Now stop being petulant.

Ardy:

It's a terrible picture, but it gives you some sense of the Harrtil range. I've included a photo of the Harrtil label as it's the only one I've found. I was going to say that Harrtil is not hard to find: you simply search eBay for Seguso Merletto, but that's less true now than before. I think we can that Mark Hill for that. BTW, I don't think eBay sellers were trying to deceive as the original mistake seemed to come from Pina's '50's Glass,' where she identified a Harrtil piece as Seguso. She corrected the mistake in 'Italian Glass.' If you want a picture of any individual piece, let me know and I'll send it to you by email.

David I just love the blue vase. How stunning is it? It has a look of the Poli piece but makes it's own statement.

Some great glass here.  :hiclp:

I would love to see the blue vase close up and the wine glasses are very unusual so a copy of that one too. I think you can send it to me via this site but if not let me know and I will send a message with my address on it.

This stuff is quite rare in Australia and I have only seen one piece and a couple in NZ. Mind you it hasn't been high on my radar so I might be corrected by an Australian collector.

regards

That piece, and the ashtray with the peach lip, are my two favourites. Quite a lot of Harrtil seemed to have been imported into Canada.

Thanks for the kind words, for what I've always thought of as my guilty pleasure in glass.
