Some Carnival Glass ID=1. Northwood 2. unknown "Prism & Pleats 3. Imperial
marycoome:
Novice in collecting carnival glass, my knowledge is very limited. I have 3 pieces that I have trawled David Doty`s site for & I am even more confused now.
This 3 footed bowl I thought could be Northwoods 3 fruits but the centre and the outside do not match any others I have seen? Am I on the right track?
PS I just found it (I think) Northwood 3 fruits with meander exterior?
marycoome:
My 2nd question is ... any clues on this bowl, I can`t find any info on it, is it oldish or contempory. How do u tell the difference between older glass and modern carnival glass?
marycoome:
last question & thanks for any help
is this Crown Crystals Blocks & Arches or a modern piece?
Cathy B:
Hi Mary, and welcome to the board. It's best to open new threads for each different piece. I can split out each separate query for you if you like.
I'm no carnival expert, but your first bowl looks like Northwood Three Fruits Medallion. It also looks as though the iridescence has worn a bit on the raised sections of the pattern?
marycoome:
Hi Cathy
I thought it best as they were all carnival glass to include them on one post, hope that was ok.
Yes there is lots of wear on the 3 fruits but I`m just a beginner so it will do until I come across a better piece and it only cost me AU$5.
Mary
