Drinking Vessel - Theresienthal?
« on: October 27, 2009, 01:50:12 AM »
I picked this up for a good price at a show in Maryland this weekend. It appears to be decorated with what looks like to me a stylized Theresienthal mark and/or crest. Does anyone have any clue when this could have been made, and relative rarity? No markings that I can find, but the Theresienthal logo along with the style tell me it has to be that. The seller said that he thought the piece was less than 100 years old, and I know they are still making special edition pieces today, but I just have no idea where this piece falls in the order of things. Thanks in advance for any help.

Either it is Theresienthal or it is Köln Ehrenfeld - and not even Heckert could be excluded. The mark could be the decorator's mark - it does not have to be the manufacturer.

Thanks, Ivo - I have sent photos to the staff at Theresienthal - hopefully they will be able to provide some information.

OK, well I heard back from  Theresienthal, and their in-house experts say it might be theirs from circa turn of the 19th-20th century, but they're not guaranteeing the information - just providing an educated guess. Anybody got those Theresienthal catalog reprints?

I seem to remember he´s a member here, but I don´t know if he visits this board

Great minds, indeed. Thank you both!

I have sent a message to Stephan directing him to this thread.

Thanks again!
