Malta Whale

<< < (2/3) > >>

paradisetrader:
I'm sure it's ok to quote it to save looking it up every time eventhough the whole (short) article is a very interesting read.

--- Quote ---Malta Decorative Glass Co. The glass factory only proved to be a show place. Mr Boffo was seconded to work there and train boys or leave Malta and he worked for the government for as long as it survived. It was the end of his glass-making days – very sad.

glasswizard:
Thank you Sue for that wonderful link. Of course we can blame Peter for all this, he did teach me about Mdina and Maltese glass,  but I do have a nice collection of Mdina and one piece of Gozo and now the Whale which seems to fit in with the history of glass on Malta. It will be interesting if we can discover the exact years for it. Of course what is confusing to me is the Boffo connection and of course the fact that in my opening post I said that on first sight I thought Chinese and apparently there is a chinese connection. Ah confusion  Terry

Carolyn Preston:
But there are no pictures. I wanna see the whale ?!?

Carolyn

Lustrousstone:
Terry is no longer with us Carolyn, so unless Peter has retained a copy, you won't get to see the whale.

chopin-liszt:
I've asked about it, and I'm sure there is an image somewhere. It will be tracked down, but I'm not up to it right now - a tad Conferenced out!
