Uranium trinket box ID please - ID = probably Libochovice
« on: October 30, 2009, 11:00:51 PM »
It's a uranium trinket box.  Any further information greatly appreciated!   ;D

It's 4" to the top of the lid, and 4" in diameter.

TIA
Stu.

Stu, what are the lid and the base like please? Plain, star patterned, other? From the side it looks like Libochovice 1700 pattern but those details are the clincher.

Hi Anne

Both the lid and the base have a star pattern.  Between each point of the star is a leaf-shaped detail.  Will be happy to post pictures if you would prefer but I'm just taking a chance that this further info will be the clincher.

:) :) :)

Thanks in advance,
Stu.

Hi Stu, I'm still a bit puzzled over this one, as the pot looks like the Libochovice 1700 as far as I can see (there's no inside view in the catalogue though).... but.... I have a whole set to match your pot (see pics below) and the candlesticks, whilst a clear match to the rest of my pieces and your pot,  don't match the candlesticks shows in the catalogue.... so...... I'm not certain yet if yours and mine are in fact Libochovice 1700. I have it listed as unknown still on the trinket set website (Mysteries #41 in fact.) I'm still looking for more about this set though.

Hi Anne

To me, your candlesticks don't appear to be the same shade as the rest of the items in your trinket set.  Maybe it's just the photo.

With regard to this ID, I feel very confident that my pot (and your pots) are Libochovice.  I will list it with an appropriate "probably" here and there if it's insisted upon.

 :) :) :)

It's just the way they are lit Stu, the candlesticks have the same pattern underneath them as the pots have, so they are definitely a match. I think probably Libochovice would be acceptable for this item at this time. As we have a huge time gap between the two available Libochovice catalogues (1920s and 1950s), variations and changes aren't trackable yet.
