That would be very nice of you. I have been helping Brian prepare a photographic record of Whitefriars weights for the Northern Paperweight Group

Sophie

Roy's recollection is quite correct (and might arise from an eBay item that we duelled over late in 2006.)

Your's is one of a limited edition of 200 "..hand made in full English crystal by the craftsmen of Whitefriars for the Smithsonian Institution in 1977"  The certificate accompanying the one shown below (#85) [**] attributes the design to Geoffrey Baxter.

It is indeed a beautiful example of the style. Enjoy it!!

Peter,

Many thanks for all this.

I now know for sure what my weight is. And I agree wholeheartedly that it is a beautiful weight.

And I am also relieved that the record is put straight: Roy and I did not fight over my weight after all. ;)

Thanks again,

SophieB

Hi Peter

Well done with your input, I knew I had seen it somewhere and had forgotten your disgaceful behavior in outbidding me for the weight!!!

Best wishes

Roy

Roy

I knew there was risk in reviving your recollection of the incident.  Friendship jeopardised for the sake of ~$1 in bids: not worth it!  Mind you, I haven't forfeited the weight have I?   ;)

Warm regards.

Nice indeed, Roy!

The faceting frames the bouquet beautifully and the pink rose is very attractive.

Oh dear! that's another for the 'to find' list.

Cheers
Peter

Hi Peter,

I am about to write a (small) piece regarding the identification of modern weights for the PCC bulletin and I would like to use some of your pictures (mainly the last one as I do not own that all informative card for my weight). Would you give me permission to use it?

Many thanks.

Sophie

Hi Sophie

Those images are from the original eBay listing (Dec '06) and therefore usage rights aren't mine to assign. [Mod: in accordance with Board Guidelines - and Peter's acknowledgement - those images have been removed.] If you want to contact the seller send me an email (email removed) and I'll pass on their email address.  Alternatively, I'd be happy to re-photograph what you need and send new images, which I'm very happy for you to use.

Good luck with the article.

Regards

Peter
