Large Deco Centre Bowl with Reticulated Gilt Pattern - Podbira?
« on: November 10, 2009, 09:56:57 PM »
I've had this lovely bowl for a while now, I'm thinking Czech, possibly Podbira?

It's about 32 cm in diameter, glass is a topaz colour, quality is excellent.

Thanks,
Steven

I've seen something recently like this only in clear pressed either on a post on the GMB or some where,I remember thinking it looked like Chances so I checked and couldn't find anything in the book now I'm going to have to check everything I've looked at or it'll do my head in!

I see what you mean - similar reticulated pattern, but actually these are quite different. My piece is blown not pressed and the pattern has been applied after in gilt.

I found this vase attributed to Podbira - similar colour & technique http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/view?q=podbira&uname=exat53&psc=G&cuname=exat53&filter=1#5159382102136821762

Glaskilian also has some Podbira attributed pieces in similar colours with gilt, just nothing with this distinctive square pattern...
