4 Birds on branch
« on: December 08, 2009, 06:03:02 AM »
Can anyone tell me if they recognise these birds, they do have a signature, but I just can't make it out. Photos aren't great, but when they arrive will put better ones on.
Unfortunatly the seller broke a bit off one of the wings when packing  and the original buyer did'nt take them so was offered to me. I just could'nt resist them, even with the damage. They have come from the same seller as the Livio Seguso Seagulls, so not sure if from the same workshop.

Many thanks to Anita and David for all the help in tracking the label for the Seagulls. :hiclp:

Hi Sandymae,

I can't seem to make out the signature too well but I am going to take a stab at it.  From the style of the birds from which I have compared them with some others and I have compared the first letter which appears to be an R.  I am thinking your birds are made by Renato Anatra.  Here is a recent post on Fossilfly so that when your birds come in you can compare the signature and see if it matches your birds.  I hope this helps.

Well, received my birds today, and what can I say, they were so beautiful. After asking them to be bubblewrapped and for them to be double boxed in bubbles and I would pay for the extra, they arrive loose in a towel with a bit of newspaper, and very light box!
Am so mad, this is the second one this week to arrive with no packing. >:(
Heres the signature on them, am going to try and piece them back together, the birds have come off at the base, and not too much damage, but the trunk is broken off, with lots of small pieces!

Oh no Sandymae!!!  What the devil were they thinking. >:(  I would tell them they must take it back and to give me back my money.  The signature is Renato Anatra though.  It sure would have been nice if it were intact.  That guy needs to be shipped in a box with no stuffing and see how it feels. :spls:  I am so sorry for you and your birds.  I wish there was something I could do.

I might be able to get them repaired, am searching the net on how and what glue could be used. The birds have come apart at the branch, so have no damage to them. The main damage is on the foot of the branch, have pieced it all together, it's was such a lovely thing, the birds have an opalescent glow.
Have emailed the seller, I also got the seagulls from her, so very lucky that they were'nt damaged as well. They were packed a bit better!
