Anyone know of a glass manufacturer called "COWS HEADS"?
« on: December 28, 2009, 01:39:13 AM »
I have this small vase which I think is a toothpick holder..almost 3 inches tall...it has an impressed cow's head on the bottom and the words "COWS HEADS".....does this sound familiar to anyone?

thank you in advance!

Search box works fine if you use it properly Frank. ;)  The Search box searches the only the forum you are in, the Search tab searches all forums.

Hi Frank,

I looked at that thread and Glen mentions the cow's head impression but does not specifically refer to the words "COWS HEADS" on the base....

In one of her posts in that thread, Glen did refer to an eBay sale item with the words "COWS HEADS" written on it. But the eBay listing is long gone.

I do not think the "Bulls Head" image, shown, and discussed in that thread is the same mark as on the toothpick here. This latter one is much more ... well ... basic, with simple, owl-like eyes! Might still be from the same area though, just a less tidy mark?

Same mark as in the ebay auction

Guuh - not so obvious, probably explains why we get so many Qs for things answered before.

Interestingly, and completely irrelevantly, in the World Wide Carnival Glass Association Christmas quiz this year, Glen points out that Rindskopf means cow's head - Rinds = cattle/cow, kopf = head. I'm not suggesting that this piece is Rindskopf, but who knows, perhaps that was the inspiration for this mark?
