Whitefriars GLASS Tha Art of James Powell & Sons edited by Lesley Jackson, page 132, plate 137, Vase iv) ...

There could be some cofusion as the general description for plate 137 states:
Quote
Cut vases and bowl designed by ... etc.
and the description for vase iv) states:
Quote
Vase, flint, produced in two sizes ... etc
Neither of these descriptions gives the "turn mould-blown" detail, which is almost lost in the general wording.

So, Max, you're not losing your marbles. I think some folk may have missed the "hiidden" text.

"The vase on the right (iv), designed by William Wilson, is turn mould-blown, and its walls are much thinner." - Third line in the description, so no, you're not going mad, Max (eeeek, Mel Gibson flashback....).

Suggestion: the blank is turn mould-blown, and then cut? Maybe?

Phew.  Thank you Kev and Cathy.  I really didn't know which way was up last night...not sure I do today either.   :(

At least I'm not going totally mad though, that's encouraging!

I'll put an enquiry on wf.com and see whether the Jackson 'hidden text' is wrong, or whether Cathy might be right - that's it's mould blown and cut.

Luckily I like a nice mystery!   :D
