As he died in 1999 anything you can get of his at a reasonable price is getting hard to find. I collect him specifically and there are copies of some of his work out there with good copies of his signature and they are asking high prices for them ie $US1000+
So any genuine piece is worth having. Hint, look for a label (check the labels file above) and forget the signatures he only signed his very best pieces and they are multiple thousands if you can find them.
Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.
Archimede tops my list.

Thanks for the info, it's all very interesting.  I did check the labels but was unable to find this particular one, which is why I queried whether it was fake.
I may look to sell the bird, so will enjoy it till then!  :D

Yes the labels file is not complete add yours to it?

I don't collect any of his animals etc so can't suggest whether it is worth hanging onto or not. There is the 'Murano zoo' run by a woman here and she knows a lot about them.

After a bit more research about the making of Murano glass, I checked the base and it is flat, with no punt mark so I can assume it is a fake.  ::)

Thanks for everyone's comments

The base is fine; a pontil mark would be very unusual for something like this
