Thanks Kev. See Broadfield not getting much mention there yet, lots of statistics though... seem to be geared towards performance assessment could find nothing recording social/historical values though.

Example of numbers game:

The most notable aspect of 2006 figures is the sharp drop in the total
number of objects recorded. The significant variations, which echo those for
2000, 2002 and 2004, reflect the increase in documentation assessments
and presumably more accurate assessments of collection sizes,
rationalization of collections and allocations by subject area.
