Hi, Dennis. Probably other people are like myself in admiring Livio Seguso, but being unable to put a price on his works. Livio did much of his animal work c. 1970, give or take a few years. I don't know about his relationship with gral glass of Germany. His work usually realizes good prices. The value varies widely, depending on the market. I am not an expert on Livio, so any value I would give would just be a guess. I can only say that it has good value. Sorry I could not provide better information. We have a couple of members who know more about Livio than I do. Perhaps they will read your message soon.

All I know is that he founded Seguso Arte Vetro (Seguso A.V.) in 1969 and trained under the great Alfredo Barbini and worked for Salviati in the 1960's before founding Seguso Arte Vetro.  His skills are superb and are mistaken for Archimede Seguso all the time on Ebay and other auction sites.  But I am afraid that is all I know about this man especially when it comes to his work outside Murano I just don't have a clue.  You have some beautiful birds though and I am sure they have a retain a value.

I found these cute fish.  I do not speak much German but I thought I would post it for you. I am doing some research for you on this company.  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110454660077  What part of Germany are you from if you don't mind me asking.  I was there in 1992 visiting with a friend and we went to Stuttgart.  She has family there and we had the best time.  I want to go back someday.  I just love the food and the culture.  Everyone I encountered was so nice and friendly.  Just a beautiful country.  I didn't want to come back to the States.  Not that I hate the States or anything but I was just having too much of a good time.

Gosh, you are so right there really isn't that much out there on the net on this company and especially connected to Livio Seguso.  Here is a link to Glass Notes and what they say about the company but no mention of Livio working for the company.  I wonder if he just did commissioned work for them at one point or something like that.  http://www.great-glass.co.uk/glass%20notes/mane-g.htm

This company is about as hard to find as Glass Studio Borowski.  I collect their work as well and trying to find info and dates on their pieces is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.  I can find some of their modern work but no dates but their later work forget it.

Hello Dennis, greetings from Stewart Island. If you take a look at this link to my seagulls, by Livio Seaguso, you can see that they are very similar.

I love your birds, and they look to have a similar base as my birds. Mine have the Seguso label.
 Sandy.
