Toffolo Spanish Dancer figures
« on: January 13, 2010, 09:09:48 PM »
I have been asked to post this query by a friend of mine. She has a pair of Spanish dancers, one male and one female. On the base is the sigature G Toffolo. The figurines were owned by her mother, who has been dead for 25 years, and my friend is in her sixties. Unfotunately the male figure has some damage, but the female dancer is in very good condition.

Can anyone tell me more about them. My friend actually can't stand them, but as they belonged to her mum, she has kept them.

Thank you for any help.

Hi,
G Toffolo is a member of a large Italian glassmaking family, some info is shown here,
http://www.goantiques.com/detail,pair-courtesan-figurines,1447005.html

I happen to know that the seller David Carrera antiques, personnally knows Franco Giancarlo Toffolo ,
his figures are very collectable. ( I would say David Carreras prices are far far higher than most ive seen :o)

Google Toffolo for a lot of information, and watch ebay to get a more realistic value, they do appear
for sale and a signed example is much better.
Hope this helps,
Cheers
