Nuutajarvi Notsjo Candle Holders...Age Help Please...
« on: January 24, 2010, 12:19:37 AM »
Hi, a pair of dark blue Nuutajarvi Notsjo candle holders. Just over 5cm high, and about 9cm dia at its widest point. Mould blown and with label. Any help with age of this pair would be appreciated. Scandinavian is not my strong point (well most Glass ID'ing isn't LOL). Many thanks.  ;D

They're very similar to a pair of Iittala candlesticks I have which I think are from the Kaj Franck 'Kartio' range (certainly they're the same very deep cobalt blue glass as other Kartio pieces I have).  We know KF also designed for Nuutajarvi and your candlesticks are a colour he used so I'd say that they're probably a KF design.  Dunno if that helps  :spls:

Iittala and Nuutajärvi was merged ca. 1987. Candle holders are still Kaj Frank's Kartio :)
