Signed Austria pinch decanter - maker & age help, please
« on: November 09, 2010, 07:35:30 PM »
This pinch decanter is completely sealed in the center.  Can anyone suggest a maker or age?  Thanks for looking.

Could be Riedel or Oberglas but I've honestly not seen this before...

Thanks, Ivo.  I looked at current Riedel and Oberglas offerings and both seem to be high quality contemporary glass.  The cork stopper in this flask appears to be original - excellent fit and the neck isn't ground.  Not what I expect from a table grade glassmaker.  Would this be an earlier ( 1930s-1950s) example of the work of one of these companies- or of another company?

the style says 60s-70s - though you can of course always fall flat on your face with such a statement.
