Green Vaseline bowl? - ID = Bagley "Carnival"
« on: February 01, 2010, 10:56:08 AM »
A Wonderful looking bowl with pleated swirls around the bowl that rise from the base to the top forming a wave motion around the top edge of the bowl.  On the base of the bowl there is a rim with a depth of approx. 0.2cm and 0.2 cm thick.  Within the centre of the rim also incorporates this wonderful swirling effect from the centre to the inner rim of the base.  The bowl measures approx. 7cm in height, the top 14.2cm dia. and the base 7cm dia.  The bowl is approx. 0.4cm thick.  The bowl is neither light or heavy.  I believed the bowl to be pressed.  It should also be noted that the patters stand prominent from the actual surface of the bowl.  I am unable to identify this particular piece.  Can anyone help please.  Kind Regards!

Bagley Carnival pattern, dessert bowl. It is only uranium (vaseline is an inappropriate term for green uranium glass) glass if it glows a very bright green under a UV light. It is part of a set including a large bowl and six small ones. Found in blue, clear, green (sometimes uranium and sometimes not), pink and amber. They are pretty common.
