Uranium Sommerso ashtray surprise
« on: February 02, 2010, 06:06:05 PM »
After handling this ashtray today, it dawned on me it might include some uranium glass, so I checked it and it does. I have had it for a few years, never occurred to me before.....

I have always assumed it was made on Murano and that narrowing down a maker was unlikely.

Will borrow a UV lamp and get a photo later this evening.

I don't need a UV photo. I can tell by the fuzziness of the green  :24:

Nice bowl! It probably would of taken me ages to guess Uranium as well. The layers remind me of the Barbini bowl I posted a little while ago...

Different Murano maker I think?

Yes, saw your bowl, mine isn't as 'crisp', I don't think it's quite as upmarket as yours.

Christine I have noticed you have extra sensory powers when it comes to the ultra violet. 8)

Very NICE!

Upmarket LOL! I actually don't like that bowl of mine to be honest. Still deciding if it is a keeper or going the way of ebay!
