Thanks for the replies.  I've emailed him to see if he can confirm a date.  I hope he was working in Australia when he made this - my first piece of Australian art glass.

Some great glass artists in Australia. There is a glass shop near me that sells some great glass by Australian glass artists. Next time I go there, hopefully I can get permission to take some pics of the pieces that they sell. Let us know the outcome! I would be interested to know what he says.  :hiclp:

Back to the drawing board.  Mr Wynne does not think this is his work.  He says his signature was more clear, and he does not recall working on a white field.  He also says his designs were similar in 1980, but more controlled.

Even I am a little disappointed. It would of been interesting to see some Australian Studio Glass listed here!

Looking at the sig' on the vase there is an 'e' missing from Wynne so it's somebody called Wynn or somebody who can't spell,

Nearest I can recall is my studio vase by Edward Clarke of Taonga Glass, nearly New Zealand, so it would have been nearly Australia had New Zealand not decided to go it alone!

New Zealand? Where is that?  (No offence to the Kiwi's, my dad is from that cold place). Interesting to see that piece has made it all the way over to the UK! Very nice Bernard.
